Secret Santa golf gifts under £20

A small budget and someone you might not know that well. These are safe, useful picks that don't need a size and won't end up in the office raffle next year.

What we'd buy

Specific products we'd happily give a golfer ourselves, and who each one suits. Where a UK golf shop we track sells the same thing, we show today's cheapest price.

  1. Golf is Not a Game of Perfect, by Dr Bob Rotella

Perfect for Any golfer who gets frustrated on the course

The best-loved golf book there is, and it's about the mental side, so it helps any golfer whatever their handicap. It's an easy read with short chapters, and most golfers who read it end up lending it to a friend.

  2. Zero Friction Tour 3-Prong tees

Perfect for A Secret Santa who plays regularly

Tougher than wooden tees and the three-prong top touches less of the ball. Every golfer uses tees, and these are a small upgrade they'll notice every time they tee up.

  3. HotHands hand warmers

Perfect for Anyone who plays through the winter

Air-activated warmers that slip into a pocket or glove and stay warm for hours. Winter golfers go through plenty of them, so a value pack is genuinely welcome and very likely to get used.

  4. Callaway scorecard holder

Perfect for Someone who plays in club competitions

Keeps the scorecard dry and flat with room for a pencil. A neat, useful present that looks more expensive than it is.

  5. Srixon Soft Feel golf balls

Perfect for Someone you know plays most weekends

If your budget stretches, a dozen of these is the safest present in golf: a popular, soft ball that suits almost every player. Golf shops often have them for under £20 a dozen.

From £19.50 a dozen at HotGolf today, one of 4 UK shops we track.

Buying for a golfer: what to check

Safe bets

Balls, tees, towels, markers, umbrellas and golf tech don't need a size, hand or flex, so they're hard to get wrong.

Gloves and shoes

You'll need their size. Most right-handed golfers wear one glove on their left hand. If in doubt, check the glove in their golf bag.

Clubs

Clubs depend on height, hand and swing speed. Unless you know exactly what they want, a gift card from the shop is safer.

Delivery and returns

Check each shop's last Christmas delivery date and returns window before you buy, and ask for a gift receipt.

Prices change, so check on the shop's site before you buy. Links to shops and Amazon may be affiliate links: if you buy, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never decides what we recommend. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
