What we collect

Up & Down has no accounts. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell personal data.

Price alerts and the weekly email

If you set a price alert or sign up for the weekly email, we store your email address, the products and target prices you chose, and when you signed up and confirmed. We use them only to send the emails you asked for. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box and confirming by email.

Emails are sent by our email provider, Resend, which processes your address on our behalf. Every email has an unsubscribe link: using it deletes your email address and all your alerts straight away. Alerts that have been sent are kept until you unsubscribe. You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing us.

Reporting a problem with a deal

If you report a deal, we store which deal, the problem you chose, any comment, and your email address only if you give one so we can reply. Reports are deleted after 60 days.

Things stored on your device

The gap finder remembers the distances you type, in your own browser's storage, so they're there next time. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Visitor numbers

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites and doesn't identify individual visitors.

When you click "View deal", the link passes through our own site on its way to the shop so we can count how many times each deal is clicked. We store only the count for each deal per day: no IP address, cookie or anything else about you. The counts help decide which deals rank higher on the leaderboard.

Affiliate links

Many "View deal" and Amazon links are affiliate links. On the way to the shop, the link may pass through an affiliate network (such as Awin or Skimlinks) or Amazon, which records the click so the shop can pay us a commission if you buy. Those companies may set their own cookies once you've clicked; see their privacy policies: Awin, Skimlinks, Amazon. None of this happens unless you click a link, and no affiliate scripts run on our pages.

Affiliate links

When you click "View deal", you go to the shop's website. Some of these links pass through an affiliate network, which may set cookies on the shop's site so the shop knows you came from us. That's governed by the shop's and network's own privacy policies.
